John Muir Awards

122 S2 pupils were awarded the John Muir Explorer Award at a recent celebrating achievement assembly last year. The pupils participated in a range of conservation activities in partnership with the Dean Castle Country Park which promoted the legacy of John Muir. 

Through participation an inter-disciplinary Shared Responsibility project they also studied the impact of the drugs trade in Scotland and on the environment, particularly the Colombian rainforests. 

9 senior pupils were involved in delivering part of the award to the junior pupils and they achieved the highest level John Muir Conserver Award (level 3) for demonstrating leadership, commitment and hard work in promoting conservation in the community.
