Pupils have been issued with their Option Booklets.  Option interviews commence on Friday 3 March.

 

S3 Options: Parent Information    Options Information

Pupils have been issued with their Options Booklets yesterday.  The Options Form is at the back of this.  Parents can download further copies of the booklet via the Resources and Downloads section of the school website. 

In addition, the booklet Career Education: A World of Possibilities will be issued separately to pupils (not included with the Options booklet).

Options Interviews

Pupils will be advised of their individual interview time.  Interviews start from Monday 30 January.  Parents can also attend this meeting and should do so if there are any questions around Option Choices. 

If your child’s appointment time does not suit you to attend, you can telephone the Principal Teacher of Pupil Support for an alternative slot.  Note, however, that all interviews need would need to be undertaken by Friday 3 February.

 

Support for Pupils

Pupils will spend time in PSE  studying the booklet to help them decide on their options.  DISCUSSION SHOULD TAKE PLACE AT HOME before the options interview and pupils should come prepared to the meeting

S4→S5 Options information

  • Senior Options form 2017 - 18.doc 
  • S5 6 full booklet 2017-2018 FINAL VERSION.doc  (This includes all courses including those specifically for S6).
  • Pupils will have time in their PSE class to discuss options choices with their teacher and to read additional materials to help them make the best choices.
  • Interviews start Monday 6 February and pupils should come prepared having thought about their preferred choices in advance.
  • If you see a problem with your child’s options (ie he/she cannot take all their preferred subjects) your child should report this to their Pupil Support teacher at the interview.

Once all options are completed, SMT will look at the conflicts to resolve these as far as possible.

Note that parents can attend the Options interview to discuss any issues/concerns. If your child’s appointment time does not suit you, you can telephone to arrange an alternative slot.

In addition, the booklet Career Education: A World of Possibilities has been included with your child’s Options Booklet to inform discussions on future pathways at home.
